I just slapped the Borla Stingers on my ride.....HOLY SHIZNIT....I LOVE the sound. I never thought I would love this car more, but now I cant stop driving!!! The only problem is I cant seem to get the damn tips to line up. I can get them both even if you look at them straight on, but the driver's side tip extends about an inch farther than the passengers side. Anyone else have this problem? We didnt really have time to screw around with it when it was put on so any tips to get them even???
I did not have any problem lining my Stingers up at all. They are straight side to side and same length. And yes, they do sound AWESOME!!! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
I am glad Borla provided excellent customer service and immediately replaced yours. I am hopeful your new system will be much better and to your liking.
Wow- and I thought it was only my Stingers that hit the rear floor pan on the drivers side! I shimmed the factory hanger about 1/4" and it cleared. Yes, one side protrudes more than the other, yea you can get them aligned by playing with the pipes with the clamps lose and then re-tightening. I installed the Eckler's foam partition and it helped with both road noise and the resonance in 6th. As by my signature you will see what's in my 2001.
Good information! I did call Borla to discuss the resonance issue and their engineer told me this system had never been tested with LT headers and an X-pipe! He recommended the Borla Road Race mini mufflers be put in-line with the Stingers. Fat chance of that happening! I'll put up with a little resonance for that deep stinger growl!
