Is this Normal on A
Both rear view mirror map lights work (with off and on switch on rear view mirror). However, there is another "red light" on the bottom right side of the rearview mirror that I think is there to provide light to the interior.
BUT there is not one on the left side of the mirror for the other side. If I wave my hand under the mirror, the light is definitely on the right side but not the left side. When I looked at my service manuals. It shows only one bulb under the lens cover on each side. Shouldn't there be two bulbs?
Are there supposed to be two "red lights" or just one?

Just one on the passenger side.It is supposed to illuminate the shifter area but it doesn't seem to do a very good job.

, although the light on mine does a decent job of lighting up the shifter area.

i always thought it was a low power (less distracting to the driver) map light for the navigator...

Never in a million years would I have suspected that light was supposed to do anything besides waste light. Glad I learned something.

And all those stray photons get stuck in the seams of the upholstery and are a bitch to vacuum up.
