I have a question. I purchased my 01 new and have had no problems until now. My DIS shows "service column lock" after 34000 miles. When that shows I hit the "reset" and it goes out with no further problems. My question is. Since hitting the reset button and having no other problems do you think it is necessary to have a dealer work on it? I really don't have a lot of confidence in the dealers expertise. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
My LMC5 just came in the mail, I am installing it at lunch. I have not gotten this message, yet, but I know the lock is still active and will need to be bypassed eventually.
Better to do it now while you still can before you need the unlocker as well. At least that was how I saw it.
I also ordered the flasher fix harness, just to take care of that little issue, too. Only thing left is TPMS sensors.
If you are still having issues with the CLB email me a contact phone # and I can help you to see if we can get all your issues corrected. One thing to check is if GM recall has been made with the install of the K Harness the K Harness will have to be removed for the CLB to work. Any questions just let me know. David Nash

$40.00 on eBay - I have done this mod multiple times for multiple owners. Takes about an hour.
I agree that you should get and install an LMC5. Google "Compliance Parts" and look for the LMC5. Cost is about $40 plus shipping.
Follow 8VETTE7's advice and get an LMC5. I just did it this week and messages are gone. You don't have to un-do any previous attempts to fix it and unlike the CLB solution, it permanently bypasses other points of failure.
