I just installed a ZR1 style front splitter. Drove the car less than 2 miles and the temperature went up to 240!
Has anybody else had this problem? is this the front splitter or just something else coincidentally puking out on me at this time? I checked and both radiator fans were working.

Check that the area in front of the radiator is clear of debris too. Since the C5 breathes from the bottom, if that area gets clogged up the temps will rise.
I have been thinking the same thing. No debris... just put splitter on. It shouldn't have gotten that hot that fast. Thinking there is something else going on and just coincidence that it happened when new splitter was installed.
Yes, but it does have cut outs, however the cutouts where small. I'm going to make the cutouts bigger and see if that helps
It sounds like you have the one with the small cutouts towards the outside and a solid "dam" in the center. Not a good design for the C5, as the C5 is a bottom breather. The C6s can get away with that style splitter as they're front breathers.
Your splitter is blocking the air flow to the center stock scoop (that hinged, plastic thing that hangs down and scrapes on everything). That scoop directs air up to the radiator, but you're negating its function with that type of splitter. You could have your fans programmed to come on at a lower temperature, but that's just a band-aid and not a fix.

Glad you got it figured out. Perhaps it would be a good idea to let the vendor for the splitter know what problems you had and maybe they can adjust the manufacturing process so it doesn't happen to someone else.
