Folks, so I attempted to switch the map lights to LED's tonight. When attempting to pull out the old bulbs, the 2 connector came loose on both sides. Now the lights a very dim if I turn them on manually, however the courtesy feature and the foot well lights do not come on.
I fear the only way to fix it is to take the mirror apart and reattach the connectors properly, if that is even possible.
Does anyone have a diy to remove the mirror and to take it apart so I can try to fix the connectors? Thanks
I just did this last night. The connectors are just friction fitted in, carefully wiggle them back into place- dont use too much force or you may break the plastic tabs. Chances are you probably blew the #26 (I think) fuse in the passenger foot well. I wound up pulling out the connectors, using some pliers to bend them for a tighter fit. If your car is older, the plastic clips are probably brittle, so if you break them off, use some kind of adhesive to secure the metal clips back into the rear view. This is easier to do if you remove the rearview from the car.
You blew the fuse for the footwell and courtesy lights. I remember blowing two fuses when I installed those LED map lights. It'll be an easy fix, but wait until you're done messing with the rearview.

Do you remember the fuse #'s. I just changed #2 in the footwell as that was blown but the lights are still not coming on. I cannot find a fuse for footwell or courtesy using the owners manual as reference.. I could only find the courtesy relay.
Maybe footwell 29 but I don't remember. I ended up checking every 10 size fuse and found two that were blown. I seem to recall the fuse description from the manual to not be obvious.

Yup 29 was blown.
For future reference by forum members #2 and #29 needed to be changed.
