Personally I have never had an issue with Discount Tire, fair prices, great service, and best warranty.........I highly recommend buying the free replacment warranty.

Accidents can happen anywhere, however if I witnessed someone let my car down on something it would have gone right back up to investigate for damage and would have never left the store without the managers acknowledgement of the incident incase something showed up later.
BTW the free replacement covers the tires completely until they are down to the wear bars, I think 2/32s and the manufacturer have a mileage warranty. If the tire is replaced under the free replacment plan just purchase the plan on the new tire and you are good to go again. This is better than Road Hazard, warranty is not prorated.

The Michellins on my C6 or 30K mile warranty.

I like America's/Discount tire. Mostly because of the guarantee.

Even with shipping, tire rack is cheaper than buying the same tire from the place. I get them mounted.

Called up the store manager, went back and forth with their corporate office, and in the end they refused to acknowledge it was their fault whatsoever. So I ate the price of replacement cats ($800 installed) which cost more than my whole freaking set of tires.

I will NOT be back to any of their stores, or recommend them to anyone ever again. I even offered to go half with them just to try and get some help but nope....nothing.

So for me, NTB will be my go-to place...if not the dealership.
Did you consider taking them to small claims court? Or did the fine print in their invoice prevent that?

I would like to hear more on this issue, Like did you talk to the manager before you left and what did he hit to destroy 2 cats?

Most of the big chains have a low price guarantee and will price match online prices (+ shipping). Then you have someone local to warranty them.

I believe discount free replacement certs are like 16% of the price of the tire and with our expensive tires I always recommend getting the road hazard warranty.

The best place to go is a close place, with a good staff, and that price match.

This is certainly the way I think! I am not usre who would warranty your tire rack tires, however Discount Tire will sell you the fre replacement certificate regardless of where the tires came from, even on the new ones from the factory. My thinking on tires and batteries is I want to be able to get them serviced most any place I go. Think I will stay with Discount Tire even if they are a little more expensive. The free replacment warranty even covers if someone slashes your tires or anything else you can imagine. I rarely ever waer a set out without getting at least one tire replaced for some reason.

that's odd, policy at all the discount stores in my area is to only use floor jacks on lowered cars, no racks

I like my NT-05's. No rain, just summer tires for recreational drives and they're perfect. They don't slip in the rear very easy.

If you saw it happen, you should of made them put it back on the rack and raise the car. Then personally inspected the car before you left. Big mistake on your part. There would of been no denying the damage on their part. If they wouldn't agree to pay for the damage on the spot, I would of called the local police so that it could be documented in case of insurance claim, law suit or small claims court.

Discount tire x1000. I ordered 99 tpms for 160 for all four AND price matched my re760s.

Won't bother to go anywhere else honestly. This isn't the first positive experience I've had.

I bought Michelins from the Chev dealer for a great price. Last time I priced them on Tire Rack and stopped at a local tire dealer. I told him the price and for only $50 more total he did the job.

That's true....to a point. I very recently bought a set of tires for my Jeep, and here's what I experienced.

Discount Tire Direct claims that they won't be undersold. I've bought tires from them before, with no issues, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I decided to see if they'd do a "price match" with my local tire retailer, plus DTD also had a couple of rebates going on at the same time. So, if they price matched the local shop, AND included the rebates, it would be a GREAT deal.

I emailed DTD with the local retailer's info, as required, and DTD e-mailed me back a little later, with a phone number to call. The DTD rep started by quoting the local store's price, BUT then said "plus shipping, our shipping is free". I said, "wait a minute, they're local to me, so there's NO SHIPPING"!! "Oh", he replied. Then he countered by saying they didn't charge sales tax, which the local store does. I countered with the fact that the local store mounted the tires, which DTD couldn't. "You're right", he had to admit.

After some more "fast talking", attempting to get me to buy the tires, he finally hit me with this...Bottom line, including the applicable rebates, etc, in place, he quoted me some price that was "$20-30 less", in total, than the local store, but not mounted and balanced. He then justified it by saying, "See, I told you our price IS less"........

Long story short, you have to shop around and be sure that the service you get is also good, and not go just by price. AND, don't get misled by some fancy wording, with a shop claiming their pricing is the absolute best, but the "qualifiers" are buried in the fine print.

I recently purchased a set of Continental DW's for my car from Discount Tire. While their price was only slightly more expensive than the Tire Rack, the free shipping makes a big difference in the price. Plus, lucky for me, on Memorial Day weekend they were having some additional promotions which saved me an additional $130 on the total purchase. It also included the road hazard warranty too. So I really got a good deal. They sent the tires to a dealer I do business with, where the best tire installer on the planet works, and he installed them for me. He will keep rotating the tire on the rim until he gets the least weight necessary for the balance. BTW, I always bring my wheels unmounted from the car and leave the car home on jackstands. With my car lowered, it alleviates any problems I will typically have trying to lift it on lift arms too high to get under my car. It's just easier this way, plus no damage, and I always coincide it with other things I want to do at home on my car.
