Hello...hope everybody is doing well. I have a question to ask. Is it possible to work around the hazard switch in relation to the turn signals? I know that for some reason Chevy designed the turn signals to work thru the hazard switch??!! The reason that I ask is that my turn signals are intermittent and dealer wants like $500 to replace hazard switch. Hope the question is clear and thanks a bunch in advance for any input!!
The forum picture adding option is acting weird.. but
I had a same problem, first thought it was actual turn switch and when I replaced it, the problem was still there.
Shortly, I found out that it is common c5 problem where Flasher switch fails to give you connection..
So I got the flasher switch off "ebay" and installed it myself.
If you look around, there is an acutal DIY with pics. Some ppl say you need to take off the entire dash out, but you can get to it through the radio/HVAC control area.
Here is my pics of the install which took about 1~1.5 hrs taking my time and being patient. Small hands help!
Once you remove the HVAC control and radio, pry out the flasher button w flathead, and basically hammer out the switch behind. I put the backside (round plastic side) of the screwdriver and hammered it out.
Mine acted up for a couple of weeks, i did as others have suggested, exercised the hazard switch several times plus i would bump dash directly above hazard switch when turn signal would not work and so far so good.
Guys, thanks for all the great information! That's what I love about this forum....you can get so much knowledge about the vehicle here!! I will certainly give the repair a shot and post back with how it all worked out!
If you would like to simply replace the Hazard switch which only costs about $25 I can tell you a couple of ways to do it and get you all the instructions. Easy to do and takes about 1- 1 1/2 hours for the first time. Just PM me with your phone number.
Otherwise, the Hyperflash harness is a fine alternative.
From all i have read it is a pain to change when u can just tie into wire harness that is much easier to get to. Again i exercised my hazard switch each time mine. Didn't work or bump the dash just above the haz. Switch and mine has been ok fo several weeks. I don't fancy ripping my dash apart to get to the switch as long as i can keep it working.

Appreciate that! Nice of you to offer but I'm gonna go with the Hyperflash. I may get the LED's later too!
