C2 has the iconic Corvette history, being it was the 1st Corvette that was a true competitive American sports car for that era, had great styling, beginning of the small block era (I know the 265, and 283 was a the same engine introduced in the mid 50's), but the Corvette put the small block on the map with its 365 FI version
C3 didn't add much, the 76 I had was a poor showing, weak engine, same suspension as the C2, so by now it was it was pretty long in the tooth
C4 had the same drive train layout, better suspension, but still did not put the Corvette on world class sports car map
C5 seems to be where GM got their act together, taking a light body, improved frame, new drive tray layout yielding even better weight distribution, the beginning of the LS series, again a great engine
C6 evolution of the C5 with improved electronics
C7 a truly refined sports car, the best Corvette ever can'w wait to own one, but I wont spend $70k, so I will have to wait
