[Z06] clutch and trans problems......
Cause outside of being heavier, which is well stated in their documentation, it works exactly as advertised imo. The only thing I don't believe is that anyone has ever installed one in an assembled (motor and torque tube in place) car in 2 hours. If you have a REALLY big tool box and REALLY small hands it might be possible, but I would think 3-4 is more realistic. It took me 5, but i generally like to over think things and really take my time.
Mind you I had no issue with their products so I never called them, but tick always shipped stuff to me same day which is awesome. Was great when i ordered the master wednesday at 1pm and it was at my house friday at 5 when i got home.

This issue was resolved by removing the Tick Clutch cylinder after 100 miles of use and installing a 2004 Z06 factory GM clutch cylinder. With the factory hydraulics, the clutch foot pressure was 100% consistent throughout the entire clutch pedal excursion and it was certainly lighter than the Tick unit.
I have an LS7 clutch. It is slightly heavier than the LS6 clutch but not significantly. I should note the clutch install was part of much larger driveline overhaul: RPM Transmission, transmission mounts replacement, torque tube overhaul, rear differential axle seal replacement, DTE brace installation, speed bleeder install, and new clutch components. I can do oil changes/brakes/belts but this job is above my head. Fortunately, I live only a 25 minute drive away from A&A Corvette Performance which is a tremendously reputable shop. They did the work.
After I brought the car home, I contacted Tick Performance concerning my earlier stated complaints about their clutch master cylinder. I note the following from that discussion:
- They didn't tell me that my LS7 clutch was the problem
- They didn't state that A&A Corvette must not have done the install correctly
- They told me the clutch behavior I was experiencing is normal
I told them I didn't think their advertising at the time (this was 2 years ago) properly reflected the behavior of their clutch cylinder and respectively requested that I return it for a refund as it was only used for 100 miles and was professionally installed and professionally uninstalled. They declined my request. I haven't seen their product description on it now...maybe they have corrected it.
Yes, Tick Performance did ship the item out very promptly and they do answer their phone and talk to you. My good opinions stop there.
It is not my intent to say they make a bad product... it should be chosen based on the application. In my opinion, it is not suitable for street driving.
One final comment, a while back, I posted a lengthy thread about my experience. I noticed that thread is gone and I find its un-explainable absence suspicious. By the way, I contacted a Forum Moderator before posting it to ensure all aspects of my posting were within Forum guidelines.
Cheers
