I have set the feature for my doors to lock when car reaches 15 mph. Unfortunately the doors do not lock once I reach that speed.
Could that just be a blown fuse or ? Thanks for any help.
Sounds like a relay on the door controller module. Replacement modules are very expensive but the relays can be replaced. I don't have any links for replacement of the relays but have seen info on this forum. I'll poke around and see if I can find it.
Thanks. I did see posts regarding replacing relays. Will look them up again.
Do these relays are connected with the 15 mph door lock feature?
The relays control the locking and unlocking of the doors so yes they are connected with the auto lock function. That function just allows the PCM to sense the vehicle speed and then perform the door lock function at a specific speed. If the door locks don't work because of relays not functioning, the desired action is NOT going to happen.
THere is a lot of info about relays on the door control modules failing and causing any of multiple door lock problems. Locks but won't unlock. won't lock but unlocks OK etc. Here is one link I found that has some info about replacing the relays:
The one I have seen that had a lot more detail was on a web site that is no longer valid.
New door control modules if available are over $400 so a relay replacement is worth the effort.
I will read up on it and will look to replace faulty relays (if that is the problem).
Fortunately I can manually lock the door before getting out so this is not a critical repair.
Thanks for all the help.
I have a 2003 ZO6 and have had times when the doorlocks didn't work with the fob. Try squirting a little WD40 into the keyhole and work it open and closed a few times with the key inserted. After about the 3rd time, it'll pop the trunk open, so be sure to check this. Try this and see if it frees up the action with the fob.
In the attached Thread pictures the three relays on the left are all alike with the bottom two being for the door locks and the top one for the mirror heating element. The Digi-Key part number is 255-1240-ND and you can find it at Digi-Key - 255-1240-ND (Manufacturer - JSM1-12V-5).
The relay on the right is for the windows and is different since it is a two switch style. The window relay is a Mouser Stock number is 551-EP2-3N1S.
Do yourself a favor and replace both of the lock relays. I had a friend fix mine. The first time he did the one that he thought looked bad. The next night he had to do the other one. Do them both. They're cheap and only take a few minutes to do.
