I have a chance to buy a White 2000 FRC, one owner, 117k miles from a friend. The car is in good shape and doesn't appear to need anything. What should I be looking for on this car and what is a fair price to offer him?

Thanks Jack, read that before I posted. Excellent post! Was hoping for some FRC specific info and pricing help.

My 99 FRC has been pretty trouble free. A clutch could be in your future or could last another 40-50k. Check for leaking seals at the axle/differential, not a common problem but does happen. Check the harmonic balancer for wobble, of course it could have been replaced already, but you friend would know this. Pull the codes on the DIC and check them out. If it looks good and drives good it should be ok. Price is very much market driven. What it's worth in California is or could be a lot different than here in Kentucky. If the paint is good and the fact it is a white FRC I would put it in the $13-16k range.
Pull the codes and check for history on the EBCM, being a 2000 if it goes bad it can't be fixed/refurbished and from what I understand new ones aren't sold anymore. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Water and oil leaks. As far as price I don't know. Maybe between 12 and 16 somewhere? White is a premium color on the FRC so maybe closer to the 16 with those miles. But again, I'm just guessing.
Can the codes be pulled with a normal ODBDII code reader? I have one. I'm sure there's an alternate method I can look up, seems to me I saw it on the Tech thread.

Have a 2000 FRC, Buy an 01 or newer C5Z.. Spend a little more to get the better electronics and you can get an ECBM.. The fobs and tire pressure sensors are much cheaper..
