Meanest cam for stock engine

I have a c5z with lg pro long tubes, slp loudmouths and a cold air intake is the t rex cam the meanest thing i can get away with without doing anything major to the engine

Unless you add all the supporting mods it will be a dog down low. I tuned that cam before and wasn't impressed.

Do you want a faster car or do you just want the sound?

Cam only with bolt-ons will shine best with a gear. At one time the T-rex held the "cam only" record.
Gotta build the car around the engine.

Someone who recorded pulls on a happy dyno, no doubt, assuming you're talking about a power record.

my brother put a texas speed 228r/114 lsa cam in his 02 z/28 and it sounds amazing preforms pretty well

Will have to look up what the specs where, but my boss had Dragon Race Engineering in Denver do a insane cam, car would idle but but very aggressive. They said it was the largest cam they had done in a stock cube car. I will see if i can find it. 01Z06 Car made aprox 463hp/tq with ported heads, Ported LS6 intake, headers and cam.

I would also be curious to know what the HP/TQ record is for a stock Cube motor NA.

The record was referring to 1/4 times.....cam only means no internal modifications but external bolt ons are allowed.
Back when people where chasing the records there were "spirit of the rules" in place that everyone understood, like the car the motor came in. Now days putting a cam only ls1 into a gutted fox body and resetting the record is not what the spirit of the rules had in mind.....In My Opinion.

Loving the sound of a mean cam is always cool. I really like the sound of my TSP 228R on 112. Get that same cam on a 110 and it would really sound killer and still be OK for street driving.
