'02, Millenium yellow. 113k on the clock. No fuel rail covers, driver side headlight pups up 1/2" after you close it (can this be adjusted?), drive side mirror is burnt or peeling or something. 3" catback cut right before the rear wheels. (stock manifolds).
Interior seemed good, albeit missing the floor mats. Weather stripping looks decent. Curb rash on 2 wheels, decent tires.
Drove great, feeled soft so could probably use shocks. Is the clutch hydraulic? Couldn't see any leaks. I have some mechanic aptitude and lots of tools. My father is a mechanic.
Dealer has this listed for $16.5... seem like a decent deal or shouldI back out?
$15k tops for me for a decent condition C5Z with 100k plus miles...regardless of year. I personally wouldn't buy a Vette with that many miles unless I wanted a dedicated track car and was planning to replace all of the suspension and steering rack bushings as well as eventually rebuild the engine. Rubber simply gets old after 8-10 years and the more miles will cause it to crack more. I had longtubes put on my 1997 Cobra in 2008, so it was nine years old. The motor mounts were shot so we had to replace them. The car only had about 55k miles at the time and had always been garaged.

you should see west coast cars, they don't have the issues of where you're from
kid you not, 200k mile cars with good bushings and no rust are common out here
I ended up purchasing it. A/C didn't work but luckily it only needed a belt. Did an oil change and new air filter. 2 weeks from now I'll do plugs/wires. Any recommendations?
I need new rotors and brakes, too aswell as the shocks.
When I was under the car all the bushings looked solid and the steering had zero play.
Tires are all 4 275s though.
The bad driver mirror is from the darkening fluid leaking. I've ordered a regular mirror glass replacement. New exhaust hangers and a fuel rail covers on the way too.
how much can you spend on those parts and what are your goals?
plugs and wires my personal choice is either a denso 5090 or delco 41-110 plug and denso 671-8056 wires
those wires are only 42 bucks and fit exactly like oem, look like oem and test within a couple ohms of each other on all 8. really good bang for the buck
brakes are where it changes. need to know what you value you more, low dust or an aggressive pad, also what you can spend
stoptech streets are the value play. basically a hawk hps with a better temp range for half the cost. they are $110 a set
the hawk 5.0 is the pad i want to try next, it's marketed as inbetween the hps and hp+ but without the noise and dust drawbacks of the hp+
stock z06 pads are also good street pads
as for rotors, get something cheap. delcos are $160 a set for all 4 shipped on amazon. you could get centric high carbons but they are more. harder iron, would hold up to abuse a bit longer
slotted and drilled are for the cosmetic crowd. if that's you, the stoptech slotted are a decent value for a high carbon rotor, around $100 each
