My first Vette and I want to make the right choice on rear diff lube. I hear a lot about friction additives needed. Also I heard Royal Purple has a 75/95 that has the additive already in the product. Advise appreciated
I went with Amsoil, and added the friction modifier for good measure. I got it from a vendor on here, subdriver, but I think he may have a different name now.
don't don't use royal purple whatever you do. that's a PAO base stock with no real seal modifier. long story short it hardens seals and eventually leaks
my fav is redline 75-90 it's an ester basestock and the LSD additive pack works great on the c5
amsoil uses a PAO with a good seal additive in most their oils. i don't think it's as good as an ester base but it's light years better than royal purple.
amsoil absolutely has the best marketing of any of the major oils when it comes to hot rods.
Running Valvoline Synth 75W90 in mine, has the LSD Additive already in it. not chattering, no leaking, works great! 2qts off the shelf at Checker/Oriley.
