Is the black base coat necessary for all colors? Is the black a smooth glossy finish? I am wanting to do black accents on Magnetic Red

It's flat paint and not smooth, from the can. You get a cleaner, smoother coat when using a sprayer.

Can you use a regular HVLP gun or do you need the type of set up they show on the Plastidip website? If the HVLP gun can be used what size needle are you using

This is the same car but now has Matte Plasti-Dip over entire rim. They are 19in CCW's

And did the rear emblem. It was the black with red trim one before

Decided to change it up a bit by doing the wheels, brake calipers and stripes. Really love the look.

Yes sir. Wanted to try it out since I heard on dipyourcar.com it'd hold up and so far it looks just as good as the day I done it but that's only been a couple weeks.

Plasti dipped mirrors, door handles , front blinkers, wheels, side trim, tail lights with glossifier, rear corner lights. Used the have whole rear section around exhaust dipped,

Actually not quite sure what brand the spoiler was.. I took it off last weekend and sold it yesterday.
I loved my wheels chrome as well but I Also love the white/black combo
