Looking for a set of all season tires for my 98 C5. Do not want run flat. What tires are you guys using and how many miles are you getting out of them? I drive 130 miles round trip to work. I don't want to by tires every 1.5 years.
None of these tires being recommended are all season and I'm personally not a fan of the Ventus V12 at all. That being said, I'm not a fan of all season tires either so it's hard to recommend a set.
If I were to go all season though I would look at the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S or Bridgestone Super Sport A/S.
Nitto 555's - -about $750 out the door. Mileage? Maybe 15k.
Also- there is a search feature on the upper left of the topic listings where you see 'views' and 'replies' . . . .you can type in search criteria like "tires" or specific tire brands and read previous posts- - -as you might imagine, it's a topic posted almost daily.
Running Pilot A/S - very pleased. Car handles well - as well as on summer only tires IMO, and they have got me home in surprise snowstorms a couple times which the summer tires could not do.
I'm looking for tires for my '00 FRC - is there a FAQ or sticky on this topic? I have a set of the Michelins on it now (they were on it when I bought the car a few weeks ago) but a friend noticed some rot and heard from another source that they are susceptible to this. I have an SUV and ran Hankooks on it - they were great in the beginning but after about 40% wear they started getting hard and loud. Definitely want something with uniform wear....
I had a full set of Potenzas put on my 2001 Vert. Like the difference between night and day compared to the 13 year old original Goodyears I was driving on. Smooth ride and so much quieter than the old ones. Ialso made sure I had a good plugging kit and compressor ready to go. I also made sure I still had the Geico Roadside Assistance service still active. I got all 4 Potenzas for $828 minus a $140 rebate at Firestone. $688 total.

I used to use the GoodYear F1 GS-D3's. Like clockwork, the rears would be gone in 20k miles, 45k in the front. Very quiet tire though
The Toyo rears have 15k and are about half gone. They are pretty sticky too. They have nice rim protection and don't cost a fortune. Only slightly noisier than the D3's
