Your comments please on a noise issue I have:
There are 2 springs (approximately 6” in length) that are located midway front to back and side to side clearly visible on the underside of my 2003 C5 coupe(They are not covered by a panel) .
These may be a spring within a spring? They are about an 1” in diameter.
They appear to be suspending an exhaust pipe on my 2003 coupe.
The dealer says that’s what making the ‘clunking noise’ I hear.
Has anyone experienced this noise with these springs?
Those springs are part of the exhaust hanger. I have had mine rattle a little bit but not clunk.

i loosen both of mine and slightly turned them before tightening them back up.
I think it made the noise worse. Maybe they loose there 'tension' (not as stiff), and then they make noise.
