Default Just Got New Tires

It was time for new tires so I went from the base (245/17 & 275/18) to the Z06 (265/17 & 295/18) size. These fit the rims so much better.

I really like the look and feel (big improvement in handling/cornering)! Here's a few pics I took today:

Great spot for your pictures. I loved going to Rosenblatt stadium. Been there a few times. Grew up just 60 miles north of Omaha.

Now about your car. Do you have the stock C5 or the C5Z wheels sizes? I have the same size tires on my coupe as well but with the C5Z size wheels. I love the look too. Good choice..

As cool as TD Ameritrade is, I'll always have fond memories of Rosenblatt Stadium.

My wheels are 17/9.5 front, 18/10.5 rear. The offsets are 54 and 56 respectively. I believe that's the stock C5Z size.

Thanks for the compliments too!

Thanks Vetteman. I went with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports. Great deals going on right now through Bridgestone/Dealers...really good bang-for-the-buck IMHO.

Looks great. I got turned on to the RE760s on my BMW, and just put a set on the 01 'Vert. Silent, sticky and great ride for a tire that handles like a summer UHP. Love 'em!

Thanks. It's cool that people have kinda formed their own interpretation on what it means...some think it means "Hurry Up"...some think it means "Get the jump on your competition". For me though, I chose this phrase to basically say "Don't wait to live out your dreams."

It was inspired by a friend and fellow car enthusiast who had aquired numerous classic muscle cars and Corvettes. Ray was eagerly waiting for just the right time in his life (basically after he retired) to restore and have fun with his dream cars. Well...while he was waiting for that "right time" to begin realizing his dream he was diagnosed with cancer, and he passed away 3 weeks after that (it was already in stage 4).

It was soon after that my wife looked at me and said, "Don't Wait!" Ya see...I was also waiting for just the "right time" to live out my dream of owning/driving a White, MT6 C5 Corvette, w/Black & Oak Int.

And now, it's a bittersweet feeling...I'm saddened that Ray waited too long for the dream that he had so eagerly preparred to realize. And yet, I am greatful to him for showing me the light...because I have had 4+ years of excitement and fun living my dream!

Nice look!! I also like your background sign of Rosenblatt. Spent a lot of time there watching the CWS.

Thanks...it's not quite the same "hometown vibe" now that the CWS is downtown, but the downtown vibe is a cool one in itself and new traditions are starting there!

Hey, I like your license plate too! GBR!!

Is your car lowered?

I have a set of the C5Z06 sized wheels and have been considering the Potenza RE760 as they are a reasonable price and rated well. Only this that has kept me away was the smaller diameter but your car looks great with them, not a lot of extra space like I thought there might be.

Thanks,
Vince

Hi Vince,
Yeah my car is lowered (about an 1" IIRC) on stock bolts. I was also concerned about gap being that these are a slightly lower profile, but I'm happy with the look.
