Default C5 tpms sensors

I have a 2000 corvette convertible. I plan on getting new rims and tires for my car. I need to know If I can use the STOCK TPMS sensors from my factory rims in the new rims?? The new rims and tires are stock size front and rear...Thank You.....

Yes - - but since they're 14 years old, this would be a good time to buy new ones- see GM Partshouse. The batteries generally fail after 10-12 years. You will need to reprogram the new ones to your car and there are a couple of videos floating around on how to do it.,...you can use your old ones if they go back on the same corners.

Whether you can use the TPM sensors in your new rims depends on whether the rims were made to accept the factory sensors in the correct location. Contact the vendor or wheel manufacturer and see what they say about factory sensor compatibility with their wheels.

And yes, if you still are using the original sensors, it would be a good time to get new ones.

Just throwing in my 2 cents here.. I bought aftermarket wheels and the factory TPMS sensors (98 C5) would not seal against the tire stem hole in the new wheels. The rubber grommet is too small. I needed the snap in style stem on a new TPMS sensor.
