Well I'm back and looking again for another Vette., after selling my 2001 Vert. to another forum member back in 2010. I've located several 2001-2002 verts that fit my budget but they all have 90k to 110k miiles on them. All have the 6 speed with no real performance alterations besides air intake or exhaust.
Considering the year of these cars the mileage in real world terms is low especially here in So Cal. So that being said is mileage on these cars really an issue anymore and is there any area of concern I should pay closer attention too!

By today's standard, those miles are not considered high. The LS engine is designed for at least twice that amount of mileage. However there are other areas that you should watch for, such as brakes and shocks, seat wear, also in a manual transmission, clutch wear could be a problem. I'd also make sure that not much has been done to modify any of the electronics/wiring.
I've been looking at cars under the $15k range since I don't mind traveling to get the right one. My biggest concern that's not in my mechanical wheel-house due to not having a lift is a possible need for a clutch. Brake, seats, shocks etc. aren't a problem since this isn't my 1st vette and I'm a former mechanic by trade.

I have an 01 Vert with 90K and an 04 Coupe with 13K. In a blindfolded test I don't think you would be able to tell the difference with how they run - a tribute to the great C5 design.

Well yea...in a blindfold test they would both run into a tree and feel about the same

Look at the sticky at the top of the C5 Gen section on buying info. Lots of good info in there on things to look for. And I agree that if the car has been properly maintained, it should last for quite a few more miles than what is currently on it.
