Default Tire size

I have a 99 C5 with 18s up front and 19s in the rear and I need new tires. Right now it has 275/35/18s up front and 295/35/19s in the back. Could I switch to a 285/35/19 in the rear without causing ABS/TC/or active handling issues? There is so much more available in a 285.

Thank you! That's exactly what I needed to know.

What year is your car? The later years are less sensitive.

For the C5 we normally do the following tire sizes

275/35/18 & 295/35/19

or

285/35/18 & 295/35/19

We have done a 305/30/19 rear as well

Are you saying that you don't think the 285/35/19 will work in the back? That tire is half the price and I'm planning to trade my car in soon. It has almost 200K on the odometer and no power related mods. Traction isn't an issue.

285/35/19 can work in the back as well.

A vast majority of our members we help out like having the widest setup possible for their new wheel setups.

Most folks with 18/19 setups run with either:

265/35/18, 305/30/19
or
275/35/18, 305/30/19
