I want molded in rear brake vents like ET/Bill has. I know you have to remove the rocker panels and then install them from the backside and mold, prep, and paint. My bodyshop guys here refuse to do the work(dumbasses) so I will do it instead. It's not rocket science but whats required to remove the panels....? Just give me a brief idea.

I believe they're glued in with a high-temp, ultra-strong epoxy. I don't believe you can remove the rockers in one piece. Removing them destroys them. New rockers will need to be purchased, the old glue removed, and the mounts will need to be prepped, and new glue applied to the mounts and new rockers and new rockers jigged into place so they match the front fenders/rear quarter panels.
This is probably why the bodyshop guys didn't want to take on the job.
Right after I got my car, I ran over a loose dits dot in the road and it put a small divot in the driver's side rocker panel. I did a bit of research on what it would take to replace the rocker and the info above is what I found about replacing the rockers. In the end, I decided to fill in the cracks with Hysol 9462, then sand and paint the area with match paint.

The rockers essentially 'glued on".
We've removed a few using heat, however it is not easy.
Some body shops have a micro like device that heats the glue for easier removal.
BTW, most brake duct openings can be installed without removing the rocker. The area behind that portion of the panel is accessible when the inner fender liner is removed.

Apologize for them turning down good money? I hope they aren't holding their breath?
It's not a piece of cake job, they basically have to be chiseled off. Guy does have a right to say he doesn't want to do something doesn't he if he feels he doesn't have what it takes to do the job.

Good luck "doing it yourself" Keep us posted on your progress,
If you actually have to remove the rockers, I wouldn't do it all. However, it seems rather unlikely they'd have to be removed. As others have said, you have some access to the backside of the rocker with the wheel well removed.
Rick, if I remember correctly I don't think Bill removed the whole rocker. I remember the thread he had and the filler and sanding he did was only from the middle of the door back to just before the inlet. Send bill a pm and see if he still has the write up he did on the installation.

They are probably doing you a favor. I have always found when someone does something reluctantly, you end up with crap....
Sounds like a fun project. Take plenty of pictures of progress, as I will eventually do this myself and would like detailed directions
When I bought ET's CCW's from him I asked him about the ducts. I thought they were done from behind but he said he did them from the outside. I would suggest you talk to him about it. He will tell you everything you want to know. He's that kind of a guy you know
