[Z06] FLP Long Tubes Installed - WOW
"quote" Can you say "Photoshop"
I always get people from Texas not believing you can actually go fast in a corvette. I think it's because they are too busy driving in the left lane and can't believe their is a place in the world that the left lane is not the cruising lane but only the passing lane. And respect the fact of NO SPEED LIMIT!! (Disclaimer- I lived in Texas for 5 years, and yes I like Texas).
The speed in my sig is from my 1998 C-5 going about 170 MPH. I have hit 180 MPH many times but the photos turned out fuzzy ( me with excitement) I was in 5 gear on the way to Munich on autobahn 3. I usually make my high speed runs on autobahn 7, les traffic. My Z06 has hit 180 but it was a long straightaway with a slight down hill. Yes it is awesome to live in a place where I can drive the Corvette to it's limit, but I can only cruse about 145 MPH for long periods of time because above 155 my transmission gets too hot. The Corvette will handle 165+ but at this speed after about 30 minutes I get a HIGH TEMP warning. (it's time for a transmission cooler)
:flag
Best I ever had my 2000 was 163 mph. We just don't have the places to go that fast here!
One (of the many) nice things about Texas, only state I have ever driven in where they actually move over to the side of the road to let a faster car pass!
Don't Mess With Texas! :)
