After searching for quite some time - I finally find the "almost" perfect thin spokes in polished aluminum.
The older gentlemen that owned the care before me just "touched" the curb but it bugs me so I have been searching for a clean OEM pair - and the plan is to have the 2 with minor rash redone.
Anyway I find the perfect set of 4, no rash, polished aluminum, even the barrels are spotless.
I'm the high bidder all damn day and BOOM! The guy cancels my bid and says the items are no longer available. I hate that ****.
I saw a set of thin spoke polished alun. on craiglist in the knoxville, TN area for 400.00. Check it out they may be still there, guy had them for 500 and dropped to 400. I communicated with him but passed on them, looked really good. Good luck
I only use the "Buy It Now" feature. Bidding to purchase something stinks.
So does selling on eBay. I tried to sell a nice guitar a few years ago and sold it at least two or three times...my point being is that each time someone bought it they never paid.
The guitar is now resting peacefully in it's case in my music room...

OK I feel better I vented
Been there, have the T-shirt. High bid and sale cancelled. Evidently seller decided if someone was willing to pay that mich someone else MIGHT pay more. Good luck to them. I hope the product tastes good with ketchup.
Yeah this it twice now. Once with eBay - and the other a local sale through a friend of mine. Showed up with the cash, on the agreed upon price - and the guy had sold the rims to somebody else that offered the little weasel 50 bucks more.
It wasn't a pretty scene
The funny part is I really like the look of the car with the thin spokes and whats on the car now almost perfect - the 2 on the drivers side ARE perfect and the other 2 have minor RR.
If I didn't just buy tires (I hated the run flats) I'd move to 18/19 or 19/20 and grab something similar but with a nice lip.
May be time to go visit Pablo at DT Performance You guys in S Florida by the way DT does some VERY nice work related to rims/tires, suspensions etc. I've known these guys for years and I'm not sure if I am violating a rule here by recommending them locally - because they are not a sponsor - but they are really good at setting up the proper offsets and combinations and won't rip you off.
How is that any worse than what people do on this site. You post a W.T.B. ad (want to but) in the c5 parts for sale and wanted section.
Then when people reply to your ad with posts. Other people ruin your attempt to buy the parts you need by private messaging the person to try to snag/ steal the parts out from under you.. It's not just ebay that sucks sometimes.

The seller did not know what he was doing. Most bidding on ebay happens in the last 10 minutes of an auction. I bought an almost new condition Acrylic top for my C5 off of eBay. I was high bidder for 6 days at under $200. In the last 5 minutes I had to keep raising my bid. I ended up winning it at $326 which was still a steal but it was a lot more than I was at.
fleabay is only good for one thing and thats buying, I got tired of selling their cuzz after paypal and ebay gets thru with ya + shipping cost it just isn't worth the trouble
