Why would they never look the same?
All it takes is time and a lot of work.
This car was show ready in 2-3 hours.
IMHO a black car loses a little bit of shine everytime it gets muddy dirty, the clear coat is scuffed and really never recovers to its previous shine. At least with my black Corvette and black SSr. I try to avoid muddy grime. Call me crazy...but I can see it. Black is special

Sweet looking ride when cleaned up. I've become so **** about bad weather that I avoid it when possible. If I get caught in rain I have to clean and shine it asap.
From: Wylie TX --> Less is More, except under the hood !
I got caught in a rain storm before. Took me over 8 hours to get it detailed again (2 nights).
From the underside to the top, and inside..... Like it came off the assembly line.

A weekend dusting takes me 2-3 hours....

Well we now all know where you are on a typical evening...especially after a rain storm,
I had a 91 Camaro, black in color and shipped it from Germany at the end of 1991, the car was spotless and on my way to Colorado, was caught in a snowstorm in Kansas, it got so nasty that I could not recognize it, took it to a detail shop three times and it never came back the way it was before, I could not stand to see the car that way so I sold it, black cars are hard to keep looking good.
As one of those "older guys" referred to above, I have to say I only wash mine when it gets truly filthy. I drive it in all weathers except snow.
That's the beauty of a silver car - when it gets dirty, it just looks a bit gray. Anyway, you don't want to wash your cars too often, it just messes up the paint. And all the cleaners, polishes, etc., work by removing some tiny part of the top coat.
My previous car was black - never again. They make wonderful garage queens, but in the real world they always look like they need a wash.
Here's my dirty car story. Driving to Roswell NM from Texas and run into/through a ton of crickets
The brake cooling ducts work....
Scraped these off the rad!
Awesome pics. Bet that was a fun cleanup.
The last time I was cleaning my car, my girlfriend came out and saw some bugs smashed on the insides of the wheels and she asked me how those got there..
