I have the exact same issue, in fact this could be a picture of my seat. I purchased a new seat foam from DJ Motorsports and will do the install once the snow flies.
Yep,
New foam from DJ motorsports fixed this - sooo much more comfortable now. Be careful when you pull the seat control bezel away from the seat, there is a plastic pin that is prone to breakage.
I bet cha that if you remove the screws that holds that bezel in place and remove it, pry out the metal fingers on the pin and re install it it will pull that gap closed. Whats happening is as the seat is sat in the cushion flattens and pushes against the edge of the bezel and slightly forces it out. Once the pressure is off the cushion it rises back up and revels the gap between the bezel and the cushion.
As me how I know !

If those clips that are on the bezel post that goes into the seat are not making good contact, the bezel will move each time you sit in the seat.
So i may not need new padding, i assume when i take bezel off it will be evident as to what i need to do to make it fit better. how do i avoid breaking the pin u mentioned? I would think it would be easier if seat is removed, anyone have picks of this. Thanks guys.

No need to remove the seat. You got a screw along the side near the switch and one in front, close to where the bezel curves. You will also need to remove the recline handle.
Step 10a will explain how to remove the handle at this web site:
Thanks guys I will take a look at this, I don't think the bezel is broken (just the pic angle i hope) but the pin shown in the pic has pulled away from the seat. I assume I need to bend the fingers on the post so it fits tighter in the female socket/hole it lives in. It makes sense after seeing the pic. Thanks for the link SG that is great info.
Not sure about the bezel on yours, but that photo is a pretty common condition - - but the seat foam will break down over the years, especially for those of us with a more ample weigh placement!
They make kits to replace the foam and rebuild the seat - - - I'm going to take my seat to a well known upholstery shop here and have them re-do things before the leather gets worn.
Cyber U were correct the items that protrude into the seat (post if u will) were broken on the front and middle locations and the back one was buggered up as well but it has a screw and doesn't protrude into the seat hardware. After I pulled it off it was evident so I drilled a hole in the middle post whick it didn't have, only the post and in the other end of the broken off post still in the seat (the middle post should have a screw in opinion because it gets the most abuse) and glued the front one and taped it with the shinney very sticky HVAC tape and put it back on. The front post doesn't get as much abuse as the middle one plus when it is secured to the seat that aids in supporing it. I counter sunk the hole in the middle post that didn't have a screw and it worked perfectly (sheetrock screw). The screw head is visible but no more gap. This is a very weak point on this seat bolster, I probabaly broke the post sitting on the edge of the seat fiddling with something else in the past. As a friend of mine says if you are riding by on a gallopping horse you will never notice the screw. The GM box is the new hazard switch I installed Wednesday. Thanks for all the help gentleman, this forum is great. After the seat fix I chadwicked it and did the tire dressing and am ready for a local cruise in tonigh.
