Default C-5 2000 Needs New Engine

What is the best crate NEW Engine for my C-5 bought new has 336,009 miles 165,000 on this engine. This will be my third one bought the car new in 2000. I have replaced everything but the engine now.

Need help want the engine warranty to be 36 mo 36000 miles or more. Would like a new GM replacement upgrade with 350 to 400hp. stock type.

Just what comes with a crate engine? Like I said above i have replaced many parts AC , water pump, fu pump and on and on.

Help

there are still a few ls1 crate motors floating around if you want a direct drop

but

it would be cheaper for a car like that just to find a decent used ls1 for 2000 and swap it

Here's what GM conveyed to me.
Years ago when I decided to drop in a LS6 crate engine into my 2000FRC I would not get the full GM warranty unless the crate engine was also a 2000 LS6.
I decided to drop in the 2004 Cadillac LS6. GM told me it would only be a limited warranty because the engine was not a 2000 and GM did not install LS6 engines in a 2000 FRC.

You know that kind of replacement can be nearly as expensive as the total worth of the car? I can't see the benefit of a warranty in your circumstances; with your driving habits, it'll be expired way before utilizing it. I applaud your "Iron-buttedness".

Lingenfelter or LG Motorsport . Google to see how close to you they are and their price for what you wont. Both offer warranties.

Wow, good call. If my engine was to **** the bed, I would look to go either LS3 or LS6. My little brother bought his wife a CTS-V with LS6 and it was a lot of fun.

Nothing against the LS1, it is miles above the LT1. But there are better options out there. But you can find a good used <60k mile LS1 for $3k.

480hp LS3. Sweet jeebus.

Or just say f-it.

Since they added the 'related thread' feature running consecutively underneath a current thread it appears guys are scrolling down to the end of the page and not catching the fact they are now finding themselves on a different thread with a different time line now.
