Does anyone know of a usb to OBD2 hookup and computer program that will allow me to monitor things?
If you want to go wireless via bluetooth and you have an android phone you can get a 'BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool' from amazon.com and Torque from the Google play store. $30 total for both. I use it on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler and my C5 and it works well.
besides my z06, ive bought a ls1 rx7. None of the gauges work currently so I wanted a live feed from the ECU to see what my temps and pressures are at.
An Aeroforce Interceptor gauge will also do that, as will the setup SumoTJ mentioned, which is a lot less expensive than an Interceptor, and is also portable
You need to decide what amount of detail you want, the cheaper versions generally only do the GENERIC OBD stuff, if you want manufacturer specific, your going to have to spend a little, especially if you want 2 way communication with the sensors to test them.
With the 5 dollar torque pro app you can add any PID you want to. It's by no means generic. They also have a sizable collection of GM PIDS available. Google will give you even more. I'm not sure if the free version allows custom PIDs or not. That's if the free version is even available anymore.
3boys is entirely correct though that it's one way. You can't write or send data with it. You can clear DTCs though.
