Default Removing exhaust tips

have new exhaust tips to put on my 2001 Z06 It has the original titanium exhaust. The tips are supposed to fit over the originals but as I found out today- not over Z06 exhaust. The tips on car now are not welded on and I need to take them off. Will they pry off or will I need to heat them up to get them off? Thanks for the help

You just have to have these tips so bad? The exhaust is titanium, best/easiest method is to use a rivet to secure it. It appears the tips on the Ti system use some type of dimpling to secure them. They are titanium so a weld process wasn't possible. It appears you may be able to pry them off but...seems like a lot to have some tips.

dimpled yes so will see. The originals are bent and completely tarnished( or whatever word titanium ages like)- used everything available to shine them up and still look lousy- This is my 15th Corvette- just picky I guess!

Soooooo, you are going to ruin a Titanium Z06 exhaust. You know you can get like 450 for the whole system and just purchase a aftermarket if wanted. I personally wouldn't ruin it. Just my .02.... Post up pics of these tips, I need to see what they look like out of curiosity
