Fan Temp turn -on
What is the temp that the fans turn on? I was doing a re-learn last night and at 214 the fans still weren't on. I thought thet came on at 190, the same as the thermostat. :chevy

The thermostat BEGINS to open at about 190. It establishes the LOW end of the fully warmed up temperature range. With the A/C off the fans don't engage until about 227 at which point the thermostat is fully open, but if the A/C is on a fan will cycle to cool the condenser, and this will usually keep the coolant under 225. The normal operating range is 190 to 230, and fan engagement establishes the high end of the normal operating temperature range.

Low speed fans come on at 226, go off at 216.
High speed fans come on at 236, go off at 226
When the AC is on the either the low or high speed fans will run. If the high side pressure gets over about 230 PSI the high speed fans will run, otherwise the low speed fans run.

Thanks everyone I probably could have looked this up in the shop manual but was being lazy. I had forgotten how high the temps are on these cars, should have remebered from the Camaro SS. :chevy
