So far everything appears perfect in our 2003. Drove almost 2300 miles to get home from Bowling Green and didn't use 1 drop of oil. Hopefully none of the other issues will creep up that the previous years have experienced.
The car visually is the same except for the front & rear anniversary badging as mentioned above.
No rear covers on mine but it is very early production, in the low 700's. At first I was disappointed but I don't really need the covers, this way I can put larger iitems in those depressions and I'll get a cargo net for the small stuff.
This '03 is incrediible. 1,800 miles and no oil usage! (Big difference from my '01)
No rear covers, no cargo net. No *50th* on the floor mats, like I was led to believe. The mats are solid black...and thin!!
Airbag decals of visors DO NOT peel off like the did on my 2000 FRC. The glue is nuclear, and should you actually get the decal to peel, the glue stays behing. Very bad change, GM.

Looked at an 03 yesterday. The new owner was complaining about all the noise from the drivetrain at idle, in neutral with the clutch out.
But it is the exact noise my 02 makes.
Sounds like the gears are banging around in the trans.
He was pissed. Don't blame him. But with only 400 miles on the car, he hasn't had a chance to really play with the car yet. I think he will get over it. :D
Somehow I don't think many of us owners of 50th cars are going to ditch the badge. I could have bought an 02 Z06 at zero financing and 5000 off MSRP, but I *wanted*, for whatever reason, a 50th. I mean, it's the 50th anniversary, fer chrissakes. It doesn't REALLY mean anything, and it's certainly no better than an 02, but it's fun to celebrate a model that's been part of America for so long. I guess you'd peel the label off of your 100th anniversary Harley, too, right?
I've enjoyed the ooooohs and aaaaahs from folks who have seen the badges.

Ours is #88 and we found out at the factory last week that it was made before they officially even started making 2003s. It's great the information you can get about your car when you actually go there.
Anyhow, I assume you're talking about the trunk lid? Our Z06 has 2 struts. Will let you know about the convertible when it comes in.
Yes, the package includes the Owner's manual, a video and a cd. All 3 have the 50th Anniversary logo.
Someone mentioned ditching the 50th badging. I wanted a Corvette from their 50th year and the 50th Anniversary badging. In fact I'm ordering replacements sets for both of ours in case someone steals them or they get damaged.
A little P.O.ed though I did not get that CD you were talking about.
The dealership where I bought tried to pull a fast one on me so I had to call an attorney. Matter not resolved just yet but will be soon. Anyway with the hard feelings I am wondering if they will go out of there way for me now to get me one?
If your dealer cheated you out of your cd send an email to:
Bob.Breeding@gm.com
He is GM's Corvette / Customer Liasion. He is in Bowling Green and his phone # is (270) 745-8181, fax # is (270) 745-8415.
In fact, could the forum moderators / owner permanently add this contact info somewhere on this site? Since we all own these cars it could be very useful someday. :yesnod:
You can ditch the ugly 50th badge buy the regular C5 badge from Ecklers. And Joe, you could trade your blown '01 for a brand new '03 Z06 for around 10 large.
I could have spent the ten large on a new Z when I supercharged mine. I wanted more performance than the stock Z offers.

I'd pick up some 50th floor mats that you got cheated out of while your at it.

Actually your car was built in the 49th year, the ones built after Dec 31/02 are the real 50th models. :D :D Hey, I don't make the rules, I just follow them. :D
Yeah, I'm still ticked :boxing about the plain Jane floormats on my Z. Oh well, I guess the little *50th* motif on the ignition key makes up for it... :nonod:
