Today while cleaning on my car pulled it out in the son and and I'm thinking WTF the top of the spoiler is dull cloudy looking I places.its only 5 months old.its been kept covered up and I know the car cover did not do it because I had a microfiber towel in one place that I keep over my vinyl stripes to protect them and the carbon fiber was dis colored under it also.any body else had this experience with carbon fiber products.going to call the company I got it from the first thing in the morning.
I don't have a carbon spoiler but I do have some under my hood. With all the heat from the motor and the years I have had it there, I don't have any issues with what you are discribing. I think you got a defective part. Good luck with getting it resoved.
Did you paint or clear the CF after you got it? Raw CF needs at least clear on it, the resin that holds it all together is shiny but does not weather well.
I have some Hydrocarbon Parts where the clear coat clouded up after a few weeks. I finally gave up on it after sending one part back to the vendor to get redone and it did the same thing. Just bad clear coat job.
I saw a CF spoiler on a C6 at the dealership. You description sounds like what I saw. It looked like someone had taken sandpaper to the clear and scuffed it up and I could also see some of the CF fibers exposed. Maybe they didn't clear it?
What everyone else said... bad finish on it. I have carbon fiber side skirts and splitter. My car sits outside under a cover for 7 or 8 months, until winter when I put it away again. The carbon fiber parts are perfect with no issues whatsoever.
