I had a really pleasant experience this evening on the way home from school. (I'm a teacher.)
As any of you who have read my posts are aware, I live in a very rural northeastern Colorado town. I don't see another 'Vette very often. There is a lady (a grandmother) here in town who owns a C6, but I rarely see either her or her car and she is not an enthusiast or a member of the brotherhood.....never waves (glares at me when I do wave to her).......just owns a 'Vette 'cause it's expensive and a status symbol.
At the only stoplight in town, there was a beautiful burgundy C6 headed in the opposite direction. When the light changed to green, I rolled down my window and gave a hand-out-the-window very enthusiastic wave. Not only was it returned, but the guy turned his head almost a 180 to follow and smile!! As I said, I don't see many other 'Vettes, so I have to make the most of each encounter and this one had me smiling all the rest of the way home. It was awesome!!!!!!
As for the grandmother, she's wrinkled and bitter and all the wrinkles suck together in one place on her face.........the frown!!!!! Must be a miserable way to live!!!!!

Nice story...As for the grandmother and countless others, you have to wonder WHY? It's a foreign concept to me how someone could not be happy driving a Corvette and not show enthusiasm to others. Instead of being self-absorbed and snooty. Each to their own I guess...
The wave works for more than just Vettes. The other day while I was in Martinez, Ca. I was at a stop sign when a guy in a bad *** Porsche Carrerra pulled up. I gave him a wave and he replied with a thumbs up. I took this as meaning we both appreciated each others car. Screw the non wavers. From now on I will wave to anybody that I think has a nice car. If they snub me so be it. Like a lot of C6 or C7 drivers they just don't get it.
Spend the winter in a Florida and in our community we wave to everyone walking. Never know what tomorrow will bring.
When driving the vet, I wave to most sports cars, and attempt a out of the window wave to other Corvettes.
