Default Logistics $$$$ Strip, Polish or Replace Wheels ?

Got aftermarket chrome C6 style 5 spokes in a C5 Z06 size on my 04 right now. They look like CRAP ! If I was to replace with OEM C6 wheels I'm looking at spending bucks on wheels, new rubber, spacers or have the ones I have now stripped of chrome, polished out and Powder Coated Clear. What do you guys think is the least hit on the wallet ? I haven't priced anything yet so I don't know the cost involved !

I don't think aftermarket reps are worth redoing. To do it right, you'll spend almost as much as a new set would cost, especially if you are stripping the chrome. For a temp fix, you could plasti dip them to change the color if the chrome is looking haggard.

Next time, buy quality wheels that last

That sucks Lou, I agree a new set would cost about the same as having them reworked, When I had my C6 spokes like yours I had them for 4 years and they held up great, I ended up selling them for 1000 with tires, What do you thing the issue was? Mine were made by OE Wheels. Your car would look great with a set of Fikse wheels on it.

Bill, these are OE Wheels as well. I took care of them, washed , waxed, never seen salt etc, etc and they are still starting to pit. Pisses me off big time !

I wish you luck in whatever you decide, but that's one of the reasons I will not buy chrome wheels. They eventually will pit and flake.

I would just get a new set of wheels. I run a set of Factory Reproduction chrome C5 Z06 wheels and they have been on the car since it was new - now nearly 12 years. They still look like new. Of course there are other options out there that will not cost an arm and a leg but sometimes finding them in stock C5 sizes is difficult. Many of the aftermarket wheel manufacturers make only 18" and up sizes.

What I think I'm gonna do Bill is keep my eyes and ears open for a nice set of OEM C6 Spokes that are polished, not painted. If the price is right I'll grab'em.
