I have tried searching and could not find this exact problem, though based on other threads good be bad switch(s). The issue is the passenger seat two lumbar supports and the side support adjustment. When you push any of the three switches to reduce the back support or adjust out the side bolsters it comes on for a split second, if you push any of the three to inflate or bring in the side bolsters no noise nothing. Switch to adjust the seat forward and back works perfect. All controls work on the drivers seat. This is a 2004 Coupe A4, 31k miles. Any suggestions, or links to search, on what the cause is? Thanks
Ok, we are dealing with the lumbar motors, which are not the same as the motors for moving the seat back and forth and up and down. You might try unbolting the seat, lifting it up, and check the connections for the lumbar motors. You could also try taking the seat switch from the drivers side and hooking it up on the passenger side to see if it is the switch, since the drivers side works. If it doesn't help, probably a bad lumbar motor, if it works, a new switch is in order.

Just the advise I was looking for, I'll try these steps and see what I can figure out, thanks for your response.
I am not sure you can use the driver side switch unless the connector is the same and ALL the pin outs are the same. I am sure they would not be. I can find that out for you later but not at home now.
If it were me, I would pull the seat and then jumper power to test the motors. Once again, I can provide that info later if you want to try it.
Looked at the FSM this morning and I agree the connectors are the same for the pump motors. The connectors for the seat positions are the same too but the pin outs are not. Two of them are different with up being down and vice versa. This should not affect your ability to use the driver switch for testing.
If you want to try jumpering any motors let me know and I can scan and post pin outs. Hurt my wrist yesterday so it may take me a day or two before I can manhandle the FSM for scanning.
