Default Skid Plate/radiator support

I need some much appreciated advice on purchasing a new skid plate/radiator support.

I finally got me a Corvette!
I've had my 1997 for about a month now and although its in pretty good shape there are a few issues with it...
I'm in the process of fixing/replacing minor things.
Things like, it needs a new Targa top. (any suggestions?)
It needs the oil sending unit replaced.
And it needs a new skid plate/radiator support.
It's bent slightly on the passenger side. I'm thinking PO hit a parking block or something.
I've looked online and have found them priced anywhere from $190 up to $259.00. The dealer wanted over $400.00!
I want good value, factory if possible, but as usual, money is always a factor.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

For the targa top, check out the C5 parts for sale section - they come up for sale quite often and can be had at a good price compared to new.

Do you have the mechanical skills to do the oil pressure sensor replacement yourself? If so, I have a number of Word files that details the process. I have attached some of the files for you. If you want a copy of the rest of them (they are too big to make as an attachment here on the forum), just PM me your e-mail address. You can even do a sensor relocation that makes any subsequent replacements much easier.

Or you can have a dealer or trusted shop do it.

this is what is so frustrating... I've done some research and I've seen the video of the guy who can do it without even removing the manifold.
BUT!
I've had two garages actually turn me down. Flat out did not want to attempt it! The 2 Chevy dealers of course would do it. But they both wanted between $475-$500.00!
Looking at the files you linked for me I think I could do it.
But I'm also the type of guy that if something can go wrong, it WILL go wrong. Hah! The 2 garages turning me down actually scare me from doing it myself because I have limited mechanical skills.

As for the video, I've looked at mine and I don't see how he got a socket down there much less his hand!
Thank you for the files.
Decisions, decisions...
