"Is it just me or is there almost as many ads from sponsors on this forum as there are from actual owners? I don't get it...no other forum I've ever visited operates this way. I just logged in and counted 22 of the 70 post on the first page were ad's. I feel like I'm walking the strip in Vegas at 2am when I log into this "forum" Does the Corvette tax apply to the operators of Corvette sites too?"
Totally agree. Other sites (for other vehicles) I am require the vendors to post in the vendors pages (which this site has) not mixed up with owners' posts. I got smacked on the hand for "interference"" when I did not realize it was actually a vendor posting and not an owner.
BTW, I expect this comment will be closed as well.
As a guest here, I have always played it as it lays, so to speak. Free is powerful incentive for me, right up there with advice on how to fix the car.
I don't mind them protecting their interests. I think they might be a little short staffed when sending out the cautions. I also got a caution from a post that I didn't know was an ad. Not every advertiser here is a pro, so now I am just more careful how I respond, I usually wait for the post to develop my understanding , then run my mouth. Then the next day at work , I realize the problems in my reply and then return home to delete my post because with time I see I have made mistakes, bad taste , ignorance , negativity, well the list goes on.
I have a different take on the subject...that being I can see ads a hundred times without interest, but then the day comes when I do see an ad for a product or service which has become current to my needs and bingo the system works...for me anyway
