Default Maybe I am crazy

Ok, here is the story. About a two years ago, I had a 99 C5 stalled auto with 431 rwhp. Got rid of it and bought an 08 C6 6 speed stock. The C6 has a lot more creature comforts, but i really miss my C5. It was a lot more fun to drive. I always got picked on for having an auto, but i would prefer another one. Maybe I am just getting old. LOL. Anybody else have a stroy like this?

Crazy or not,I'm old like you,and it sounds to me,with 431rwhp,you'd tear up the c-6,with the c-5 you had.I'll never be too old to enjoy the feeling of sitting next to a guy in a c-6 with that 'I'm newer and faster than you' smirk on his face, and dusting him off the line(if it's safe of course.

Lots of people like an auto tranny car over the manual and for a variety of reasons. My first two C5s were 6-speed cars but my current one is an A4. All the cars have been basically stock performance wise and I'll say I have just as much fun driving the A4 as I did driving the 6-speeds.

As far as preferring one generation over the other, nothing wrong with that. The C5 is a very good platform and can hold its own against a lot of newer, more expensive cars.

Not a story like that - I could tell immediately that a C6 was not going to work for me, no matter how much horsepower it had!

No, I don't have a story like that, but as an owner of a C5, I like yours, the part where you miss the C5 was extra good.

I'm not sentimental about any type of transmissions, although I have seen some sweet power reduction gear sets. I guess that would qualify as a psychopath around here, a man without the ability to tell right from wrong.

I sold my c-5 this last summer and really miss driving a Corvette. I have been looking at c-6's but like the c-5 better. The EBCM problems with the c-5's was a constant worry for me as I had a friend who went through this a year ago and still can't fix his 98 coupe! The price of a used EBCM is ridiculous!

I came from a 07 C6 auto to our 02 C5. I feel connected to the C5 while driving it, for me it is a better driving experience. BTW used to live in Flower Mound and visited Denton for Chuy's and Carrollton for Babe's!
