Active handling provides traction control and handling assistance. If you turn it off you will be able to do a burnout and the car won't provide any handling assistance. I always leave it on unless I want to spin the rear tires. It will save your *** to an extent if you are driving spiritedly and push the car too far.
After reading the unsettling above post
I cut these ground buses out and soldered the wires to washers.
They are a poor ill conceived design that promotes corrosion.
These 2002 ones had only 20,000 miles and you can see the green
starting to form.
They are on both sides of the frame rails under the hoses.
This is very easy to do as a preventative measure.
Adding a Big 3 kit is also not a bad idea.

Since We are on the subject and it has probably been answered before sometime, I have to ask? Did all year c-5's have active handling? I wish to God you could buy a c-5 without active handling/E.B.C.M./traction control etc...Just a car for people who don't want/need a "nanny" to help us rdive!

If you disconnect the SWPS it will disable the AH but throw a code which is better than the car trying to kill you if you are having AH issues.

This aftermarket device from LA Performance allows you to pre-select your Active Handling and Traction Control activations.
Active Handling became an RPO in mid year 1998. Before that there was NO Active Handling. From mid year 1998 through 2000 it was a chargeable option (JL4).
Beginning in 2001 it became a Standard Feature on all C5's..
EBCM is the Electronic Brake Controller module or anti-lock brake module. It is a standard equipment feature for all year C5's
That explains why I don't have active handling on my list of options but had the DIC state "Active Handling Engaged" on my 04. I thought the computer was going nuts but apparently, the car does have active handling.
You might find that product is no longer available>>>>
The link still works. It describes the item as "Laptrax C5/Z06 TracActive Controller". Is that a different product? Just wondering since I am not familiar with the device.

Just turn it off once you have cranked her up. No biggie.
I put the item in my shopping cart. Created an account then went to Paypal page where it asked me to enter Paypal info. Didn't buy it since I don't want it but it seems like you can order it.
Perhaps the company has started marketing the product again. A couple years back they stopped selling the product. I know that for certain. Guys that track their car wanted a guaranteed solution to having to remember to manually turn of AH/TC and the once available product was no longer available. This was especially helpful for the early year cars where you could not turn that stuff off with the car moving. Their advertisement was still around but the product unavailable.
Perhaps someone that wants one will order and post back the results so we know if it is actually still available.
They'll take your money and keep it until you complain to Paypal at which time they will refund it.
