Thanks all. Has anyone running equal size (diameter) tires on a Z06 had any issues with thetraction contol being too sensitive?

After several months with the 18s all around I haven't had any problems. I think for most folks if there were any problems you would see them when performing at or near the limits of adhesion and I would think that the active handling would be the biggest issue. The easy, and safe, way around that is to get one of the handheld programmers, like the Diablosport, and set your tire size in the PCM using that. Or, get a tune that includes your actual tire/wheel sizes. I have bought my tuner but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.

Hi Zmeister

I've heard that the Active Handling is unaffected by tire diameter. Are your TIRES the same diameter (apparently your wheels are)? I'm concerned about traction control, and thought that was controlled by BCM rather than by PCM. But, maybe that's a bad assumption?

My tires are pretty close to the same diameter. I think the Tire Rack site showed them to be about 6/10 of an inch difference front to back.
You're right on the BCM controlling the Active Handling. I was typing too fast and not paying attention apparently.
I always thought that the Active Handling did the most to monitor the variations in rotation of all the individual wheels and then applied brakes individually if necessary to help keep the car in control. I know when I had my old Nittos on the car and the tread was getting low the Active Handling would kick in when driving in heavy rain and it detected the front wheels hydroplaning. When I first bought the Z I was reading everything I could get my hands on and now I think I've forgotten much of what I read, so, I could certainly be mistaken, but, I do feel that it is the best thing to do to tell the computer the exact wheel sizes to get the best performance and safety out of the car. And the handheld programmers are a relatively cheap investment when you consider the other benefits that they offer.
