Its going to be tough to add this scoop to a stock C5 hood.
the C7 scoop is flat by design to be added to a flat surface.. the C5 hood is not flat, but has two very defined humps...
Now anything is possible, and this flat scoop could be " Frenched IN " to the humps of a stock hood.. but its going to take a good bit of work to make it look factory.
Stock C5 hood
Good Luck..

I plan on sinking it in between the humps, you will notice that as it starts lower it slowly gets bigger and then has the split in the center.
I will be going in below the first support brace across the hood, well I should say he will be doing the work we just outlined it as follows.
Then once in place and flush/clean the center line between them will be redone.
Now will it be slightly different lines, yes because the lines on the C7 are not the same as the C5 obviously. But it should come out cleanly enough that it looks just as good as the aftermarket ones.
I like OEM, I want it to be as close as possible. But the minute I looked at it I knew the lines were just to sharp to be a direct fit but oddly enough the size matches the center humps quite well.
On the point of functional my goal is for it to be, but as I am working with aesthetics too it could probably be better if I was willing to sacrifice that. But the same could be said if I would use an aftermarket. I want it to extract heat and vent under hood pressure. I believe it will do as good of a job as most other aftermarkets when I am done.

So the first issue I have come across is after getting a C6 LS3 Intake I am trying to look into using the newer Maf as well thats what this intake is made for. Obviously I have HP Tuners but there was some suggestion that the new maf would still not work and some that said it would be fine.
I didn't get one with the intake obviously so I couldn't compare the connectors, anyone able to shed some light on this for me?

Ok as I originally said things will not b starting until this week or weekend but in the mean time I have been buying the part's I need and things I don't... such as new rims and tires yet again.
I am going to try the stock C6 LS3 Intake after reading up that the maker of my Blackwing intake is the maker of the filter element in the stock filter.
I plan on being done with the swap today and working on MAF tuning. I have a new LS3 Card MAF and the adapter plug which I now need to switch over to.
(This means my Black wing with Icebox will be for sale as will a LS2 MAF with Pig Tail)
So hopefully I should have created the room I need to clear the vent... or not guess we shall see!

Impatient to see the result
Subscribed as if this is good i want to do the same
I have been looking at louvers to cool down my engine compartment
And I have not find any thing i like so far.
My radiator will be relocated and will now face up so i need the heat to exit
Functionality is more important than look to me but i dont want an ugly hood.

Not sure if this is going to be happening anymore. He had a bit of an issue last week but I will let him chime in and explain things if he wants to. I'm sure he will.
