Default C5 Sun Visor

Good evening all...

llinois based. As you may be aware, the C5 sun visors don't hold up very long. I've got to recover or purchase new interior visors, preferably manufactured with a better, more durable cover. Can anyone recommend a good provider with a good product?

I purchased new ones from one of our forum vendors. Can't say they are anything other than OEM type stock. Before installing I cut the driver side open and installed a homelink unit in the visor - then took the thing to a cobbler to sew it back up. New visors will last quite awhile as long as you don't pull it down by the edges.

An electronic garage door opener built into the visor and similar to most newer production vehicles.

If you want a really cool sunvisor, Vette Essentials can cover your stock sunvisor in quality leather. And I do believe there are other vendors out there that do the same thing.

No...not anything that would track. Just a door opener.

Homelink is just supposed to be a garage door opener in my car to eliminate the need to carry one of the portable clickers.

But, who knows what else is inside those things - there may be nefarious agency tracking my every move through the device.

Do you really think that's a good idea? We all keep registrations in our cars with our addresses on them and then to have a garage door opener... Well criminals aren't stupid. They know if they see that its a key to your house and you aren't home.

LOL...you're not helping my "Big brother's watching" concerns! I've got an email in to Vette Essentials. Their website shows some nice work...let's see if they respond. Thanks!

Crosis, I have a automatic garage door opener in every car I own (4). It beats the dog snot out of pulling up to my garage and getting out to open the door. I'm sure you've seen how houses are built, if a bad guy wants in they can get in anywhere - shoot, someone watches you pull out of your driveway and within a minute they'd be inside. I'm not terribly concerned about that in my area. Living somewhere else maybe, but not yet. The door openers are a serious convenience to me.

OP - I'm sorry for starting a threadjack. Hope you get some good visors on your ride.

One of the vendors on here had a screaming deal on sun visors. I can't remember who it was. Somebody will chime in. I ordered one last summer. It was just like OEM and cheaper than anything I could find on fleabay.

I need some visors too. My driver one feels like it cracked in half, sorta just dangles there now, limp and lifeless.
