Sorry to see it move further away - Champaign, while not the ideal site for the show, was only 4-5 hours away. Now it will be close to 8 hours. Not sure I will drive that far for the show (it was only 6-7 hours for St. Charles) but may decide to go as the show approaches.
Hopefully it gets better in the new location. Many major vendors have not been showing up or if they did, they only had a booth with ordering info there.
I can't wait!!! Half the fun of having my C5 is driving it and this will be 4 hours for me! I can only hope they manage to have some type of run on the track as well!!
I've had this on my list of shows to see, but I've heard nothing but bad things about the show. Everything from the politics just to get judged to the lack of vendors. I'd like to go and being at IMS would be an added bonus, but I'm just not sure it's worth the long trip for me.

Used to be good when it actually was in Bloomington but went downhill quite quickly after they moved to Springfield, then to St. Charles. I even bought my current C5 at the St. Charles show, a local dealer had a booth and I drove it off the field on a SUNDAY (car sales are outlawed in Illinois on Sunday). The only kind of good time to go is Saturday, Friday they are still setting up and Sunday a lot of vendors leave quite early. A lot of booths selling junk like Bibles and Potpourri too.

If you have never been you have to go. Unlike some that have been going forever and have seen the show change, I've only been the last two years so that's all I have to judge.
I'll say this, you get out what you put into it. I met more friendly people the last two years than I ever meet at car shows locally.
Sure it may have changed, but look around, what hasn't changed.
Went to Bloomington Gold last year, 1st time, was surprisingly underwhelmed.
Read much about the previous shows before I planned the trip, and tried not have high expectations, do not think I did? Thought the vendors disappointing, and the overall mood or feeling of the show was "flat" to me.
I did meet many nice folks and saw many extremely nice Corvettes, a great plus!
Just my two cents...........
It would be my "guess" that they would have a track drive available. For several years the Goodguys Hot rod show would be at the track and it was offered to participants.
Here is pic of our trip around the track. They did say to keep it under 70.

Yea, they got it if you want to pay $25 for 2 laps at 60mph. I think all the time slots are gone. You can still do 70+ on the highway but no left turns.
Going to be my first time as well, but getting mixed reviews. I am driving from NYC and would really hate to be disappointed when I get there. Tried to get a pass in advance but was told u have to be a Bloomington member, but can buy parking pass in advance.
Huh. I happen to be leaving for Pigeon Forge TN for a vacation on June 26th and will be driving right through Indy (I'm in Fort Wayne)..........May have to make a stop.

We're getting orders ready to load on to our trailer for delivery to Bloomington Gold next week. I'm excited as this will be my first time at Bloomington Gold!
Billy Boat Performance Exhaust will be on hand with a limited inventory and offering installation at the event. We will have a drawing for two lucky winners to receive 2 hot passes each to a NASCAR Xfinity race of your choice! Stop by to register for the drawing and check out our inventories of Corvette parts and exhaust systems. Drawing will be Sunday at noon at Bloomington Gold. In addition, if you'd like to meet Billy Boat, he'll be hanging around Thursday to supervise installation of BBE exhaust systems.
Looking forward to the event and seeing what is sure to be a great turnout of Corvettes! Hope to see you there It's always great to match faces with forum names
