Really? This surprises me. I just sold my 1994 base C4 coupe for $12800. Have the C5's really dropped to C4 prices ?
I guess the C5 is the new C4 as far as value anyway.

without other details, I'd say you did extremely well on your C4 . . .
Our prices may be a bit stronger out here this time of year, but I'll agree with Jack - - -$14.5 . . if it's cherry
sorry guys I meant 80K anyway I went to see and drive it, it drives very good in all aspects, the auto shifted just fine and had plenty of power especially when I floored it interior was not taken care of very well and the seats were well used but no rips. all gauges seemed to function, all fluids looked clean and full. Body was good except for ding in right lower front bumper which ruined the appearance. Forgot too mention the SS headers and borla exhaust which really sounded great!! Anway from the ones Ive seen would give it a 8/10 definitely not worth $13,5 IMO

Wow, for $12,800 in that area it would have to have been nicer than that beautiful, one owner, 94, M6, Polo Green/tan coupe for sale at $10K obo on the forums. Your car must have been something really special to bring that kind of $$$. Glad for ya!
Went to see a like new 97 today that checked out fairly well. excellent interior/exterior with 53K showing, mechanix/running gear seem to be sound, it also had a manual 6spd, the car almost looked new. The only visable problem was the tires were almost shot and it had the stock exhaust system that didn't look very good viewed from the back.....I give it a 9/10 because of the tires/exhaust, they want>>>>>>>>$15,499 which I thought was a bit high so by the time ya upgrade the exhaust system and decent tires youd be into it another $2,000 more.\
BTW those stock wheels gotta go!! so add on another $500

$15.5k for a '97 with 56k miles?!?! Is that with TTL or just the price? I wouldn't pay a dime over $15k with TTL.
Maybe your market out there is bit less seasonal than ours, but I got my '03 with 50k miles for $17k last month. Private party is the way to go, save some money on the price, and you don't have to pay dealer fees.

well that's kinda 2 fold, yes its always better to deal privately but you wind up paying taxes tabs etc but if you can get good price from private, take the money you saved and buy that official BS
buy from dealer and everythings included, but your paying for it!! the reason Im leaning towards it is cuzz it been taken care of and has low miles + its a stick, and those are the things Im looking for, but I still wont pay their asking price. Am thinking of offering $13K out the door but wont hold my breath.

$17K for a 03 with 50K on the clock is an outstanding price if the condition is good and it has a clean carfax. We had a MSG coupe in my area with 70K on the clock for $17K a month ago. I think it was on CL for about 10 days and gone! A nice clean late coupe with that kind of mileage and that price isn't going to hang around.
As for a 97, the ones I've seen were less expensive, but almost always had higher mileage and/or some excuse for something needing repair. The price seems a little high, but with an M6 and if you've checked the codes and it's what you want...... You might wait and do better, but that's time without a Vette. I think your plan to make an offer sounds good, but they'll probably want more than $13K. Good luck.

I don't like buying from dealers. I'd rather know the person I'm buying the car from.

The car has clean carfax, and looks flawless, but I live in Michigan. The guy simply didn't want to pay to store it for another winter, so he was willing to deal. He had it listed for $20k and I went way down from there. I was kind of surprised he took the deal, but it looks like similar cars don't sell for much more on eBay. Vette prices are very dependent on region AND season. Buying a car in the north in the fall will net you the best deal. I just didn't realize prices were so much higher in the south and west.

It was a really nice 94 with only 23000 miles and it was red/red.
It sold on Craigslist in one day. I thought maybe I priced it too low.
