I am sure that when I get around to finishing my installation, my double-din Kenwood w/GPS will be #1. I just have so much going on that this project has been taking me weeks to finish and I'm really getting aggravated that other stuff keeps getting in my way. However, I did finish installing a snow plow on my pickup just in time for our first big snowfall. I'm hoping tomorrow I can work on my car and hear some Kenwood sounds!

I would agree that a double DIN/Nav upgrade is a great mod. But since I do not yet have that on my car, I'd have to go with my Vette Essentials interior and my Corsa catback system.
Considering the fact that I've gone from my Tundra that had my Kenwood double din with nav, dvd, ipod, satellite radio and bluetooth in it, to the stock cd player (not even cd changer, that doesn't work), and the fact that the area I live in has 1 MAYBE 2 tolerable radio stations, I'd say it WILL be my double din, when I finally get that mod done. It's agony dealing with the stock stereo.
This struggle is me now. I feel like I'm back in High School, only with a much nicer car.
I came up with another idea for the best non-engine high tech mod and it is #1, the column lock bypass, to prevent me from getting stuck while driving. With all the traveling and driving I do, when I did get stuck I was in my driveway after washing my car. I had moved it to wash and when I got back in to pull into the garage, the steering was locked and the car was not facing into the garage. I managed to get it inside and did not touch the car once I got it to unlock until my new bypass kit came. So I have to nominate the CLB as the best non-performance mod made.
Great for remotely opening the windows on a hot day, or remotely closing the windows when leaving the vehicle, or just for ease of access/egress of the car....especially if in tight quarters. I wouldn't be without it.
I lump my double-din NAV upgrade into my full interior Vette Essentials leather conversion mod. Although I enjoy my upgraded interior and stereo system every time I drive the car, I think my most impactful technology mod has to be my full exterior HID/LED conversion.
It not only significantly improved my ability to see and be seen, it completely modernizes the C5 platform IMO. Anyone who drives behind me always compliments me on my LED Halos.
