I don't believe so, They are glued and if you try to take them apart you will have issues.

They are glued together and I do not think I would want to break the seal for fear of some leaks. You can always do as Mr.Bill mentions and just mask the top off before painting or do like I did and buy some covers that fit over the stock tanks and paint the covers.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was right in thinking they didn't come off. I have been thinking of painting or buying the covers all ready painted. I believe it was one of you guys that sent me some info on the painting of the parts. Thanks again guys for your responses.
