Default Corvettemods Low Beam HID conversion install

Hi Guys,

Kit just arrived from Corvettemods, and the instructions are certainly not step by step. Being in need of pics and simple instructions, anyone know of a walkthrough for this upgrade?
I have tried googling it but to no avail. Thanks.

Andrew

Hope you have better luck with yours than I did. Worked great for a few weeks then the driver side would only light off half the time on the first try. I would have to cut the lights off/on a couple of times when that happened to get the driver side on. The last straw was on a trip form Nashville to B'ham at 3 am on I65 it just quit. If I recall it was a 70.00 mod and I am partly to blame because I am bad about keeping up with receipts when something originally operates as it should. But it was an easy install overall.

do these lights come with the extra harness that adds relay's and connects to the positive side of the battery and a good ground source?

Well the kit comes with a bunch of parts, none of which I am familiar with. The other mods I've done such as the mgw shifter, seat sliding fix kit and the speaker upgrade all came with excellent, very specific steps. This kit comes with a very poor instruction sheet that frankly is a show stopper for me. Add to that the story above, plus a few others I've read and I think it may just have to go back. Unless there is someone out there who can simplify the whole installation process for this thick owner

Have you tried contacting your vendor for assistance. Some have detailed instruction links on their websites.

I'll give them a call today and see if they can help. There is no link on their website.

Remove the 2 back screws on the headlight covers.
Turn on the headlights so they pop up then unhook the connectors so they stay up then you can turn off the switch.
Remove the screws that hold the bezels and pull them forward and down then out.
Remove the front 2 headlight cover screws.

Remove and unplug the bulb and hook the harness to the ballast then plug the HID bulb to the housing.
If it doesn't light reverse the connection to the ballast from the harness.

You can also remove the headlight housing easily to mount your ballast by undoing the 10 mm inside screw, popping off the lower adjuster which is a ball style carefully with a large flat screwdriver and unscrewing the top adjuster with a wrench and needlenose vise grips.
Use a clamp to pop the lower adjuster back together.

Thanks. I've decided to return them. Think I'll just put up with the factory lighting.

Sorry about that OP. A guy just bought HID headlights in C4 gen. He also said the instructions suck. With the help of us forum members, he got them to work.

You can get a big improvement over stock by switching to 9011/9012 HIR bulbs and a Hi-4 harness to switch on all four bulbs for high beams. Simple to install.

I had the same problem with several harnesses sent to me. Now one doesn't even light up and I don't have the receipt and they are over 1 year old. I think it also messed with the OEM wiring harness because even with the stock bulbs in it won't light up which I think means a relay is out or something. Never had headlight issues until this was installed in the car.

They gave you the cheapest ballasts.
The better ballasts in 55 watts fire up every time without having to be turned on twice.
I haven't had any problems or had to use extra relay harnesses that hook to the battery and the light clip.
The 55 watt ballasts mean you don't need a resistor or have to put the high beams on to have them close.
My highbeams are instant on ballasts that fire up in a second the first time then instantly after that.
I have the Radioflyer BiZenon housings with my own ballasts and bulbs I had before.
I also have the 4 bulb on high harness.
The CMods HID fog lights work fine everytime.

No need to do that to yourself. Our Kit is completely plug and play with highly pictured downloadable installation guide....plus you get Bi-xenon optics and our brand new F7 fast-bright 70w ballasts.

Your kit looks great, but it's a little more than I can afford at present. Putting up with factory keeps $650 in my pocket at Xmas!
