I know this probably has been beaten to death. I did do a search. I just put on B&B Bullets.. I can't take the drone. I like loud but my head is going to explode from the drone... lol

Does anyone know if the Corsa Extremes have drone????

I have Corsa Extremes on mine with heads,cam and LG super pro headers and the drone is not bad. Don't get me wrong though they are quite loud and even louder wide open but when your just cruising around it's easy to have a conversation or if your just listening to the radio.

I have a very slight drone around 1500 RPM, though so did my stock exhaust with the mods that I have.

So it's not always the exhaust, but the mods/tune that you have on the car as well. Regardless, my drone does not bother me or my wife.

Now the decibels do bother my neighbors when I pre heat the car at 6:30 in the morning on a work day. Though those same jack-o-lanterns think nothing of mowing the grass at the same time on a Saturday or Sunday.

 

I'm thinking I'm sensitive to drone.... I may just go with the Sport and play it safe. I've been told there is no drone with them. I'll just have to sell the Bullets. Kinda sucks, but I can't keep doing this... I'll go broke... lol

 

Similar boat I was in.. I had the B&B Fusion that came with my car which when open is just the bullets.. With headers they droned sooo bad. Sold those and bought the Corsa "Xtreme".. Headers, no cats, no drone! DO IT!

 

unfortunately.. many people who own B&B Bullets claim they do not drone.. but because of their design they do in fact drone, they are designed for a robust idle , which makes them drone at cruise. Your Bullets are acting like bullets.. some people with bullets do not know what drone actual is.. I've heard people say it sounds cool.. much like the obnoxious base tone you see kids who want attention in their car with their speakers blasting that horrible base tone drone that rattles your windows two cars away...

Ok, The extremes all say 'Twin 3.5" Pro-Series Tips'. I assume that's two per side correct? I'm about to order.... BTW, thanks for all the input!!!

 

Corsa "Xtreme".. Headers, no cats, Magna Flo X pipe NO DRONE

 

I've the xtreme mufflers with corsa x-pipe. With stock manifolds and stock motor there is no drone but the car's still louder overall than I really wanted. I let the reviews from people saying that the xtremes are not that loud push me too far. That being said, if you actually like loud then they are probably a great choice.

 

Another question. One ad says they only work with XO style cross-over pipe... Does this mean I can't instal them without an X pipe?

 

You don't Need the x pipe but will pop and crackle on decel without x pipe bothers some not others. I was really worried about drone but I have none with xtreme I think less then stock also quiet on thruway can have convo with person in the car no problem. The exhaust is very loud when accelerating hard but sounds awesome. I am very very happy with the exhaust.

Can't speak for the Corsa Extremes, but I have the Indy Pace Cars (now Sport) on my car and they sound great with NO drone.

 

get the 4" tips, they look so much better... I have a set myself and with longtubes, no cats, and a cam they don't drone but can be extremely loud outside of the car but not near as loud on the inside... a buddy of mine has a cammed c6z and we were having a little fun and he kept hitting the rev limiter because he couldn't hear his car

 

Nope....got corsa extremes in my convertible an got no drone at no speed and love the sound to boot.... Go for it and enjoy.

Just drove 3.5 hours home from Houston. No drone at all. I SOLD my Sports for this set, and have no regrets at all. I love them

 

on top of being versatile (they can be relatively quiet while cruising if you let it or insanely loud at wot) I would argue that they are one of if not the least restrictive system out there besides running a straight pipe, which is a big deal to some of us... the straight through design of the xtremes really sold me and they have the looks and sound to boot... one of the best systems for these cars in my opinion... wait until you add a cam and/or some forced induction on top of it

 

Same exact reason I did them. Seemed a more viable and easier option than cutting out my trunk bin and fitting a 3" system

 

Well, you folks were right. I totally love them!!! No drone. Quite inside the cab. Good stuff. Now, if I can just get the B&B Bullets sold I'll be totally happy!
