Default climate control repair

well i have removed my climate control from my 99 coupe because the lights were so dim you could hardly see them at night. now i'd like to send it off to be repaired with original style bulbs . i'm sure some of you have had this done and i would like your input and the name /address of the one doing the repair. thanks for your help and advice. i considered white led but afraid the climate control panel would then be much brighter than the other lights in the car. again thanks..........

Even though you don't want LED lights, I would still get in touch with JW Motoring and see if they can install OEM type bulbs in the HVAC unit.

If you can use a soldering gun it's a fairly easy job to do yourself. There is a tutorial on doing it somewhere on this site, I did mine myself.

Get a hold of Tim Starcovic of JWMotoring. He goes by tstar on here. Very fast turnaround and he stands behind his work if there are any problems.

LEDs are the4 only way to go.
They work and never seem to fail.

^This!!! The dimness is due to poor soldering from the OEM. Use the turorial, re-solder the resistors, and you can save yourself some $$$...

I can attest that re-soldering the chips is easy to do. I have never used a soldering gun and it worked well. The big issue is pulling the center console and part of the dash to get to the circuit boards. I was surprised at how small the circuit boards were. If you find the tutorial on this forum, it is a piece of cake.

I think this is the link that will do it for you: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...splay-fix.html

Note the reference to Vette Essential instructions. I just put these seats in my 2000 Yellow Coupe. A great modification you will enjoy every day.
