Default Check engine light, 3k miles..Hmmm, help??

What would cause the check engine light to come on, along w.
"active handling warming up"....and stay on..5-10min....after being parked for 3 hours..02 ZO6??
Turned motor off, "active handling warming up" disappeared....and
"check engine light" stayed on...
It's at the dealer now....but this seems strange???
ANYONE ELSE..

Probably a bad sensor. Should have checked the codes before taking to dealer.

Mine came on also. Pulled the codes. They were for a lean condition. Checked the blackwing which I had recently installed and found one of the clamps had worked "itself" loose. I tightened the clamp and reset the codes. Been good since.

It seems lean codes because of intake leaks are common on cars with aftermarket intakes. This is most likely (as was in my case) because of installation errors (ie not tightening the clamps) and not because of product design.

See Tech Tips for how to do it.

Default Catalytic convertors BAD...already at 3K..!!! (Gary@ronal)

This is real strange..Dealer states that the catalytic convertors are bad, have to be replaced..at 3K miles??
Also rattle in exhaust requires alot of work on the tranny, exhaust, etc..Minimum 3 days w/o car...
Did not notice a loss or lack of power before...could drive the car w. the light on..and it drove ok...but I didn't push it either..
FYI.

They're full of crap. I get a check engine light every 3 months or so just because of my intake, headers, and exhaust. It's some air bank code, I just reset using the DIC to clear the check engine light and I'm good to go.

Gary we need more info... otherwise you're just going to get 100s of anti-dealer replies.

Is your car stock / modded? What were the codes??

I had a O2 sensor go bad... car smelled like unburned fuel - but car drove great, lots of power, no smoke (still smells - need to take it back). But dumping unburned fuel into the cat's will destory them in far less than 3000 miles.

I got a check engine light today. Just got it back last week after a leaky transmission. (They put red silicone on the o ring on the left yoke flange. - this is GM's answer) On top of it all they screwed up the alignment after it was all put together.

Pulled the codes = # 2 Bank Lean (P0174) and Speedometer (B516) Communication Checked my Halltech Sidewinder -everything is nice and tight. Going back to the dealer AGAIN. 10,100 miles.

Anybody esle getting these codes?

This is getting old.

Car is stock, only 3K miles on it..
Have no clue what would have caused this..
Dealer has replaced the Catalytic convertors, seems to run OK now..

BUT the jingly noise is still there, annoying as hell...

I'm simply trying to find a solution to my problem, not stir the wrath against Dealer service departments...we'll see what happens...I'm off to the
Nor CAL "Montereydeloro" Corvette show, on Friday in Monterey...your neck of the woods?? http://www.montereydeloro.com
Should be 1,000 vette's there..according to the organizer??
